Today, Los Angeles psych pop band Amo Amo shared a shimmering new single, “Missed Connection,” off their just-announced EP Canta, out June 19 on Poolside’s Pacific Standard Records to coincide with the summer solstice weekend and the longest days of the year. It follows the band’s previous song celebrating Earth Day, “Canta”. Last year, the quintet released their self-titled debut album produced by Jim James of My Morning Jacket, which features the single “Closer to You” recently in an Apple ad here.
The band explains the new track: “‘Missed Connection’ explores themes of isolation and the absence of human connection within our technology-obsessed culture – a message which feels especially resonant in the current climate of pandemic and social distancing. The song expresses a deeply felt yearning for reconnection, not only with one another but with all forms of life and with Earth itself.”
