Dave Stewart has once again teamed up with singer/songwriter Thomas Lindsey to release their new project, Amitié, on Bay Street Records, a division of Dave Stewart Entertainment Limited and distributed by The Orchard, on Friday, July 17, 2020. The album will be available on all digital and streaming platforms. The first single, “Liberation”, is out today, followed by a second track from the album, “Storm Came” on June 5 and finally “Hold On” on June 26th with the entire album being released on July 17th 2020.

Amitié was created with Stewart playing dobro guitar in hotel rooms in London, Paris and Madrid just before the Covid-19 outbreak. Stewart would then send the tracks to Thomas who was at home recording his vocals. Subsequently both artists, like the rest of the world, were relegated to an enforced quarantine/lockdown and they ended up finishing the album in their respective homes. The culmination of their efforts is nine startling new tracks, including: “Brothers In Arms”, “Finding Freedom”, “Hold On”, “I Know How You Feel”, “Last Night”, “Liberation”, “Lord Save Us Today”, “Storm Came” and “Turn Me Around”. Their first album, “Spitballin’”, reached #1 on the Blues Chart at both Amazon and Itunes and this new album has all the signs of being another critical and chart success.

Dave Stewart said about the new project, “Amitié” (meaning friendship or camaraderie in French or Creole) is not only what Thomas and I have, but to me friendship is the most important kind of relationship you can have with anybody. All of the songs on this album are full of brilliant and quotable lyrics by Thomas and accompanied by his vocal stylings and my music together we take the listener to some strange and as yet uncharted territories in fact, this is not just an album, it’s a warped radio and stage play performance (obviously if we were not in lockdown)! Additionally, being in a lockdown situation, along with everyone else in the world, added an intensity and urgency to our recordings.”

Thomas Lindsey remarked, “It usually only takes a single word to inspire a song, and in this case “Friendship” was the word. That thought paired with the fantastic soundscapes Dave is able to create with his guitar allowed us to have a musical conversation about friendship and the true importance of it. My only hope is that you’ll be able to hear this message of how important, treasured, and needed friendship is.”
