Interview: Witnez

Hi Witnez! How are you?

I’m doing great. I’m just working as hard as I can with the new material that I’ve been creating. Trying to make a plan on what’s next for my music. I’ve been working on an EP and I’m really perfecting it as much as I can. I want this EP to be something I’m really proud of.

Where are you from?

I’m from Abilene Texas.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

I’d say xxxtentacion just hearing how versatile he was within his career was very inspiring to me. He really showed me that there are no boundaries in music genres. Like his most recent album it was full of different sounds you wouldn’t really expect to hear.

What are 3 words that describe your music?

Three words that describe my music would be emotional, sad, and relatable.

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

For me it would be my song “Currently” it’s an old song I released back in 2016. I’m a Christian so I struggle in believing sometimes and in the song I talk about feeling alone with the things I was going through and all the friend’s I was able to lean myself on. I also talked about things from my childhood.

What are the challenges of being an artist?

One challenge would definitely be lack of teamwork and understanding. Everybody seems to want help but a lot of artists aren’t very open minded to constructive criticism.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

I actually have a song coming out tonight at midnight. It’s called Memories I got it mixed really well and honestly I just can’t wait to see people’s reactions to this new single.
