Kaanu Olaniyi is a talented basketball player that has become one of the fastest rising interiors in the Swiss Basketball League. Averaging 2.9 points, 4 rebounds on average in more than 10 games, Kaanu Olaniyi helped BCB to an amazing streak in the league as the club pursues a top finish in the league.
Before joining the Jurassic Club, Kaanu played for Union Neuchâtel Basket, another Swiss Basketball League outfit, where he caught the attention of the Swiss Basketball team coach Gianluca BARILARI in 2017. This helped him to get an invitation to the squad that played Macedonia for the pre-qualifications for the EuroBasket 2021. His move to BC Boncourt came as no surprise to many, considering his immense talents and the versatility he showed even at a relatively young age.
Kaanu Olaniyi is one of the major six players that BCB relied on in the 2019/2020 season, recording more than 15 minutes of playing time per match before the injury that ruled him out of the season. Kaanu also played an important role in BCB’s 2018/19 season amid a rollercoaster adventure that included a two-match suspension after his involvement in a match scuffle.
Due to the injury to Kaanu Olaniyi, BC Bancourt decided to reinforce the team with the recruitment of two players in Arthur Edwards and Marc Seylan, who is making a return to the team. Arthur Edwards is coming from Bulgaria where he played in the Rilski Sportist Samakov, where his experience and versatility stood him out in the league, scoring 5.33 points and turning in 2.2 rebounds and 0.3 assists on average in the Bulgarian championship.
Marc Seylan, on the other hand, is making his return to the BCB, playing with Pully Lausanne and averaging 11.5 minutes of play in the previous season. Marc Seylan trained in Switzerland had joined the United States between 2012 and 2017. He signed with the BCB for the next two seasons. “His leadership” will be at the service of the group, announced the BCB.
