Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Pretty well. We decided to stay positives and to enjoy our time with our family.
From all the songs out there, what made you guys want to remix Dua Lipa’s “Physical”?
Physical got the power of the best track from the 80s with the modern and fresh touch of Dua lipa. It was hard to don’t fell in love with the track.
What was the approach you went after with this track?
Our goal was to produce the remix in the same way we would produce one of our single.
How was the recording and re-writing process?
First of all, we decided to change the chords progression to give a melancholic vibe to the vocal, then we added the big slap electro bass and some tech-house drums to bring a dance vibe in it and then we added all the details around that (keyboards, pads, etc.).
Do you tend to take a different approach when remixing someone else rather than working on your own original work?
It depends on the track, when we compose vocals it’s a different approach because we build and write the whole the song. But when we work on somebody else’s vocals the process is much more defined: we build our instrumental around vocals.
What role does France play in your music?
The passion for mixing genres. French touch used to do that with disco & electro.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
The new single (Head Shoulder Knees & Toes) is more electronic than our other singles. We want to show that we don’t have borders and that we want to try a lot of different things.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
We just released Head Shoulder Knees & Toes today (May 8th), and we will release a single featuring Madcon before the summer.
What else is happening next in Ofenbach’s world?
Lot’s of releases! Lots of studio time! We expect to be back on stage as soon as possible.
