LX Xander is a Billboard-charting music producer originally from the United Kingdom. He is the founder & CEO of Ghostcraft Music, a Billboard-charting production house & artist development company. LX is also the head of a mysterious, cult-like organization known as ‘THE FXMILY’. He has been known to describe himself using the D&D term ‘Lawful Evil’.
We got the chance to interview him. Check it out below:
Tell us about your background getting to where you are today?
I was born from a transdimensional rift to the dark world. Covered in ectoplasm, I climbed to my feet and rampaged through Central London, absorbing the souls of all those I happened upon. As my blacked eyes found focus in my new environment, I saw that it was good. My senses atingle, I made my way to the nearest studio and, still naked and glowing from my journey through the ether, I produced a double platinum album, then had an orgy in the live room. The rest is history. Is that ok?
Where are you from?
I’m from England. But I work with mostly American collaborators, aside from King Wizard. And I guess Alyun too, who’s Chinese.
When did you start music?
I was about fourteen.
How did you get into music?
My dad was a musician, although I’m mainly self taught.
What is the most challenging thing you have overcome in your life?
I don’t know, being so magnetically charismatic and ostentatiously talented that it alienates those around me…? Yeah, let’s go with that. Possibly also balancing my life as a professional music producer with my side hustle of being the Lord of the Underworld.
Are you currently signed or independent?
I run a production house & artist development company called Ghostcraft Music. We provide beats & writing services to industry companies (including major labels) and we also develop new artists and shop them for deals. So, on paper, independent. But we dabble with the majors often.
Who inspires you the most musically?
Me? And my regular squeeze, King Wiz. We co-produce the vast majority of the stuff that comes out of Ghostcraft. He’s legitimately one of the most incredible piano players in the whole country in the UK. There’s a reason the press keep calling him a genius. He’s kind of like ying to my yang, but also even more yang to my yang. Or whatever.
Any new music coming out soon?
I have 3 tracks in development with Baby Goth. I have no idea when they’ll be coming out, though. We got a lot of projects going on right now, and I want more features for those songs before release. Our business manager, Oliver Harvey, is working on that.
What is your greatest achievement as a musician?
Successfully implementing obnoxious vocal sidechaining into pop records. That answer’s just for the producers. I gotchu, guys.
