Hello 2Four, Thank you for taking time to chat with us today. Tell us all that is going on in your world?
Thank you! Really not too much currently as far as actively doing things of course but doing some writing and creating content for social and preparing for this new single to drop so I guess you can say a whole lot and nothing at the same time.
You have a new song coming out. It is titled "Light Show" What can you share with us about it?
It’s a song in more of the edm / electronic space with some hip hop vibes in it. I made it while in the mindset of thinking of festivals and shows and just that whole atmosphere of like partying and the lights going crazy and stuff like that. The song is a whole vibe and I can’t wait for it to drop.
When you were writing this song, did you know it would be your next single?
Not initially but I knew I would release it at some point. I try to be calculated as to how I release songs so I wasn’t thinking oh this is the next one but after listening to it a bunch I knew it was one that would see the light of day and it’s finally time to give it to the world.
What has this time of social distancing been like for you? Has it given you more time to focus on music or do you find it more difficult?
To be totally honest, I am someone who is more socially distant most of the time anyway so it’s not too different for me, but since things have been shut down and almost everyone has had to stay in I have been able to get so much more accomplished so it has really worked in my favor from a time and productivity perspective.
Share with us a little more about yourself – what has your musical journey been like?
It’s been an interesting journey for sure. I’m from Nashville, TN so I have always been close to music in some form but as far as my musical journey it has been a lot of figuring things out and a lot of mistakes but I wouldn’t change it for anything. I have learned so much over the years and still learning as I progress. I started out as just a kid with a dream and a determination and I’m still that pretty much but I am just a lot more focused and still growing and won’t take no for an answer. I use to be so unsure and always wondering if I had what it takes to do this and if I was any good and always stressing and listening to everyone but myself and now I know where I’m at and where I want to get to and I won’t stop and have full confidence in my abilities and what I’m doing. There are good days and bad days and stressful days of course but I know what I can fall back on and how to attack my plan.
Have you written any new music this year – any plans to release anything?
I am always writing new music. Since the stay home orders I have focused more on building my base and marketing and content and such but I always have ideas and things I am working through. I absolutely will be releasing more music. Of course I have Light Show coming May 15 th but I will for sure release more music this year and I am excited for all of it
What is your writing process like?
It’s a process but not like extremely structured or anything. I like to let my creativity just flow so I
sometimes am working on multiple songs and sounds at the same time. Sometimes I just hear
something or catch a vibe and go full force into that thought at the time. So it’s sort of all over the place but I know exactly what I’m doing in that process and the end result of course is what you guys get to hear.
