Chapman Guitar founder and popular YouTube Pro, Rob Chapman, today releases a new mix of his 2019 song, “Chromatic Aberration”. When it was written, it, was improvisational and naturally lent itself to this new mix of the song referred to as (Lucid Mix).

Presented from his alter ego, known as Monkey Lord, this new mix of the song is being released as Rob gears up for new musical projects planned for later in 2020.

Rob said,  “Monkey Lord is my attempt to express landscapes musically as if wandering through various images in my mind. I am mildly synesthetic and discovered many years ago that when looking at paintings in a gallery I could hear music. I wanted to capture that and this mix of the song takes it a step further.”

This new version, along with 2019’s EP Chromatic Aberration, was recorded, produced and mixed at Mutant Lab with all music sounds by Rob Chapman. The final mastering was done at Re:Creation Studio by Greyum May and Adam Goodlet.

“Chromatic Aberration” is the title track off of Monkey Lord’s 2019 debut album, Chromatic Aberration, which peaked at number one on the iTunes Alternative Chart.  The song is a trippy and sonic journey that needs no lyrics to make an impact.

Multiple guitars layered on top of each other bring the listener to a place of reflection as the song weaves its way. It is a perfect example of Chapman playing at his best, creating an impressive soundscape.

The concept and production for the accompanying video was a collaboration with  Wild Stag Music in Brighton, UK. The video meshes seamlessly with the track, depicting artistic views of a dense forest, as the sounds of animals and moving water gently provide a backdrop for the instruments.
