Using CBD Oil to Treat Anxiety

From helping with reducing inflammation to boosting the immune system, CBD oil has become a to-go natural supplement for those seeking to improve their general wellness. CBD oil has been linked to many positive attributes; hence it is no wonder that people are trying it for anxiety relief too.

Among many areas, scientists are researching the benefits and potential of CBD; the idea of how CBD can be used to treat anxiety is one of the most prevalent. It is believed to be one of the most effective and completely natural ways to manage anxiety symptoms and reduce the rate at which you get anxiety.

One way or another, the media has represented marijuana to have two effects; complete relaxation and calmness or anxiety and paranoia. However, this is as a result of the THC in marijuana.

CBD, on the other hand, is a non-psychoactive compound. Researchers discovered back in the 1970s that CBD could help lessen and even reverse some of the adverse side effects caused by THC consumption, such as increased heart rate, paranoia, and anxiety.

Preliminary studies of animals led to researchers concluding that CBD has therapeutic promise for people with generalized anxiety disorder, Post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

How CBD Produces Anti-Anxiety Effects

CBD works by interfering with neurotransmission in the human body. Tiny chemicals in your brain, known as neurotransmitters, play a crucial role in your moods, energy levels, and cognitive function.

The cannabinoid compounds attach to CB1 and CB2 receptors in the ECS. The Endocannabinoid system is an extensive network of transmitters and neurons that regulate functions like immune responses, moods, pain reception, appetite, mobility, appetite, among others.

It also works by increasing a joy hormone known as anandamide, which works by elevating your spirits. When your mood is elevated, then your anxiety and depressive thoughts take a step back.

How Much You Should Take for Anxiety

Keith Myers, the founder of the Hempire, recommends that you always consult your doctor or healthcare provider before taking CBD for any medical condition, including anxiety. Even if it a natural and safe compound, you should consider it a drug like any other.

This is more so important if you are on anti-anxiety and antidepressants because CBD could counteract these medications. Without a recommendation from your doctor, it can be hard to know the best dosage.

It is always advisable to start with the lowest dosage possible and slowly work your way up according to what suits your needs. Remember that CBD oil works differently for people and so the best way to know what works for you is through a trial and error method.

However, it is essential to know that taking too much CBD won’t result in increased benefits. This could leave you exposed to some annoying side effects of CBD oil. Luckily, most manufacturers provide the CBD concentration on their label information.

Use what is on the label information to try and figure out how much you can get from a single drop of CBD or a CBD capsule. If you are using a tincture, use the dropper to measure how much you take.

For example, if you buy a 10ml bottle containing 1000 mg CBD with 200 drops, a drop will have about 5 mg CBD, which would mean that the approximate total volume of a single drop would be 0.05 ml. Hence, in this case, if your recommended dosage is 30mg daily, you will take six drops from the bottle.

Do the same for CBD capsules; always check the label and determine how much is in the capsule. Capsules will also come in different concentrations, so it is essential not to make a general assumption. To know more, visit The Hempire.
