Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Mitch: Trying my best to stay busy and not go crazy during quarantine but all in all, good!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Casanova“?

Mitch: So happy it’s finally out.  Musically it’s a fun mix of Eagles of Death Metal meets Jet but, in 2020. A good Ole Rock N’ Roll Banger!

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

Mitch: I wrote the music in mid-summer last year in Down Town Los Angeles. I think that the fun partying-in-LA vibe comes off in it.

Any plans to release a video for the single, other than the lyric video?

I’m sure being in quarantine is making it difficult to put things together.

Mitch: For “Casanova”, I don’t think so, but we are putting one together for “Shakin Off The Evil” – which will be released later this year. We each are recording our own parts. Me Playing guitar in an old haunted theater; Cody in Amarillo, Texas; and Greg is filming in Denver at the Oriental Theater. The video is being edited in LA by our director, Matt Akana.

How was the recording and writing process?

Mitch: Super organic. Cody (Jasper) and I really hit the ground running. Once he came out to LA – we wrote and recorded the first 10 songs in only a month and a half.  Everything just flowed naturally.

What was it like to work with Jim Kaufman and how did that relationship develop?

Mitch: It was such a fun process!  We recorded everything at Jim’s studio in Santa Monica, and we really didn’t have a time frame. We could start recording and finish whenever we wanted to, which is a great luxury.   It was a really good experience.

How much did Jim get to influence the song?

Mitch: In mix and in production he had a lot of influence (which he killed) – but really it’s all a collaborative effort, we all serve the song the best possible way.  We all worked together really well.

What role does living in Hollywood play in your music?

Mitch: I think it shows in some of the sound of the music, but being surrounded with great musicians really pushes you. On a Tuesday you could walk into a jam and hear someone’s songs, and be like “DAMN – I gotta get back into the studio”!

Are you planning on releasing additional new singles later this year?  Anything in particular you can mention?

Mitch: We will be putting out more music this summer, for sure. Look out for “Shakin Off The Evil” and “Cheap Thrills”.

Any plans to hit the road and play live, once we can all safely gather again?

Mitch: As soon as we can we will be.  We plan on starting in Texas and then going where the wind (and the booking agent) takes us!

What else is happening next in Moon Fever’s world?

Mitch: Releasing some more bad ass Rock N’ Roll Bangers!!  And getting out to play live again – we can’t wait to get back on stage and perform for people IRL.
