Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit release stunning new track ‘Dreamsicle’

Ahead of the release of his highly-anticipated new album, ‘Reunions’, out 15th May on Thirty Tigers, Four time Grammy Award winner Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit today reveal their new track ‘Dreamsicle’.

In this widely relatable look at children surviving divorce, Isbell leans on vivid imagery that conjures up not only a sense of loss but also the sensation of childhood in ‘Dreamsicle’. “I was thinking a lot about myself and my wife because we were both very young when our parents split up,” he says. “I was blending our two stories. It’s not exactly a heartbreaking song, it’s just sort of a picture of a kid’s life. I wanted to keep the voice of the child-narrator but also retain a retrospective to show it’s something the child survived.”
