PREMIERE: Mahealane Releases New Single “Hopeful Romantic”

Mahealane [mah-hay-ee-uh-lah-nay], also known as Ruth Nichols is an LA based singer-songwriter and trumpet player. Coming from the jazz community, she weaves jazz stylings and sensibility in both her vocal and trumpet performance in this pleasingly melancholy ballad.

About the song, Mahealane says the following:

“I wrote this song shortly after returning home from Burning Man. Hopeful Romantic is about rediscovering trust, love and curiosity in yourself after being heartbroken and in toxic relationships. While the song was originally titled “Hopeless Romantic,” I ultimately chose the perspective of Hopeful over hopeless, because I had already spent a year feeling rather dark about the prospects of love, and the week I spent at Burning Man was a gift to my soul. Sometimes it happens that you meet another person feeling the same exact way you feel and it gives you life again, to move forward and to enjoy life in a new and healthy way.”
