Interview: Schleepyk

Hi Schleepyk! How are you?

Whats good, I’m doing fine.

What is your greatest inspiration for your music?

The thing that inspires me the most to make music is the idea that I can one day bring tons of people together to collectively have a good time. Whether its at a concert/party or just listening to my music in general. I would also like to be able to do what I love for a living and possibly gain the potential to help those in need on a large scale.

What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?

Nothing ever seems hard to write about for me, when I’m making music I just get into some sort of zone and just write what I’m feeling/thinking at the time.

Are you planning on releasing new music soon?

Yes I am planning on dropping a new single “Spending a lot” on 5/1 and possibly one before then and much more after.

Do you currently have a manager?

I am currently not being managed.

How are Spotify playlists important for your exposure?

Spotify playlist are very important for my exposure because it gives people a chance to listen to my music. And actually decide whether they like it or not. Versus on other streaming services without playlists its very difficult to get your songs in front of new people and gain a following.

What are the challenges of being independent?

Being independent is just a lot of work, especially because I prefer to produce all my own beats and engineer my sound myself. When making your own music and having high expectations of the outcome you either have to work a ton for it or pay for it, usually both.

What label would you like to sign to if you were offered? Or would you stay independent?

I would sign to any label that I felt believed in me as an artist and messed with me as a person as long as we were satisfied on both ends. Quality control is tight though.
