Just fine, laying low and staying locked up in my studio 😉
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Waiting Out The Storm?”
“Waiting Out The Storm” for me is really an ode to maturity in a relationship about learning to give space to one another and grow!
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song? What’s your favorite lyric?
Just life and being married for ten years!
My favorite lyric is: “With her I’ve learned to fight the rain by waiting out the storm”
How was the recording and writing process with Wayne Burton? Have you worked together a lot in the past?
To be honest I wasn’t in the mood to write that morning and had never met Wayne. However, I’m so glad we did! Classy guy and top drawer songwriter!
The recording process was pretty much the norm. I just had a feeling all along we were capturing something really special.
With the major reception from your previous musical work – did you feel any pressure while working on this material or rather the opposite?
I just enjoy it all so much and try to treat each project with equal respect and attention, so not really…
Does the new single mean we can expect more new material – how’s that coming along?
Always expect new material from me, it is my life work and will be till my last breath.
Any plans to hit the road?
My band and I “Kentucky Blue” are always somewhere playing…mostly small theaters and bluegrass festivals. You can find a full listing at billydroze.com.
What else is happening next in Billy Droze’s world?
Well, me and my beautiful Marija are expecting our 4th child and we are super excited! I love being a father, sometimes it’s a juggling act between career and home, but oh so worth it! I am currently in the studio finishing up my forthcoming album rightfully titled “Waiting Out The Storm.”
