MACKENZIE NICOLE RELEASES NEW VIDEO FOR “I STILL HOPE THAT YOU’RE OK” TODAY FROM HER ALBUM “MYSTIC”

Exploring new sounds and sharing intensely personal lyricism, the 20-year-old took direction from her own life experience and penned songs that we can all identify with in some shape or form. Mackenzie shares her most intimate emotions and thoughts throughout Mystic and its accompanying video series that will lead up to a short film release in May.  See the videos including the recent premiere of “I Still Hope That You’re Okay” here: http://smarturl.it/MysticSeries

When asked about the song’s meaning, Mackenzie explains, When I originally wrote “I Still Hope That You’re Okay”, it was about my ex. I wished him the best even if he only ever gave me the worst. Then, as time went on, I no longer had the emotional capacity to wish him well. I didn’t wish him ill either. I didn’t wish him anything at all. When he got a new girlfriend, the song became about her. I hoped so desperately he would treat her better than he treated me. But, more time passed, and I couldn’t even afford to care about her. She could and would fend for herself. Finally, I realize this song was about me all along. I have to make sure I’m okay.”
