Stella Angelika Releases New single ‘Little Serenade’

After unveiling a brand new musical identity last year, north London-based singer-songwriter Stella Angelika has returned with her new single, ‘Little Serenade’.

‘Little Serenade’ marks a confident return from Stella, having found her footing pairing the RnB and soul she grew up on with the classical music that shaped her formative years. Coming out the other side of a difficult few years, it was a need to work through her struggles and translate those thoughts and feelings into music that led to her fusing of styles.

Picking up where ‘Denouement’ left off, ‘Little Serenade marries Mozart’s joyful ‘Eine Kleine Nachtmusik’ with gospel-infused melodies and Stella’s smooth soul vocal. Continuing this theme throughout the forthcoming project, these classical references helped make a breakthrough with her writing, providing ‘an entirely new context’ to the pieces and something that felt truly honest to her. ‘Little Serenade’ begins with the bounce of a Mediterranean groove as Stella opens old wounds with a stream of subconscious negativity. ‘I wanted to put something out there that said you know what, despite what you might see of me and think, I struggle a lot with this kind of thing, like most people probably do.’ Shifting into the chorus and out of that headspace, her words address the listener directly with ‘a mantra of acceptance’ as Mozart’s melodies breathe a powerful confidence into her voice. This is the beginning of an exciting chapter for Stella and her music, and she’s finally comfortable embracing her idiosyncrasies to write what feels true to he
