About the song, Modern comments “When I was putting the production of this song together, I had the idea to throw some spoken word on top of the chorus section (before anything else vocally was there).  It didn’t quite hit how I wanted it to, so I decided to take what I had recorded and chop it up / manipulate it a bunch.  Then that piece just sort of stayed through the whole process and ended up in the final version.  Having both that and the main falsetto vocal going on at the same time in the chorus is somewhat representative of two lines of thought running through your head at the same time.  Some people have told me that it makes the song a bit distracting or difficult to focus on the main vocal part of the chorus: that’s part of the intentional point here.”

In regards to the video, he adds “We actually bought a disco ball to use for this but couldn’t find a good way to attach it to the ceiling without doing damage.  We had a bubble machine, a ton of streamers, 30 glowsticks, tape, and a few other things and decided to put a video together with that.  The video visually came out really cool and pretty close to how I envisioned it as a visual piece for the record.  Some cross between a laundromat and a basement disco party.”
