PREMIERE: Size 85 High Tops Release New Single “Cemetery Solitaire”

Today we are pleased to team up with the guys of Size 85 High Tops for the premiere of their new single “Cemetery Solitaire.”

On the song, Keyes comment “Solitaire” is a revisiting thematically of the apocalyptic seeds sown in the album’s title cut and a reiteration of some ominous vibes in another song on the record, so it’s something of a tie-in, and a grim slice of realism, a song about military service, survival of the fittest, prison, suicide – it’s meant to evoke a man slowly changing into a monster…the last sound of the song is like a flashed blade. It’s really three songs fitted together. I was reading all those books about the Siberian forced labor camps, the Gulag Archipelago…stuff by Shalamov and Solzhenitsyn, Kersnovskaya, Ginzburg, and Herling-Grudzinski. You come away with an appreciation that something resembling beauty can transcend and endure such brutality.
