Global superstar Danny Avila makes his AFTR:HRS debut with Run Wild, a record that distils the renowned producer’s myriad influences into a flawless, vocal-led electronic gem.
With a feisty production sound and a unique, highly energetic DJ style, Danny Avila has been a breath of fresh air in a world where many artists are happy to stick to the same formula. Deeply passionate about music, his records have been released on a huge range of world-leading labels including SONY, Interscope, Musical Freedom, Spinnin’ Records and Ultra Music.
Following Danny’s previous single Good Times on Musical Freedom, he now debuts on the Tiësto-curated AFTR:HRS with the explosive Run Wild. Like much of Danny’s music, Run Wild includes multiple elements from his wide range of influences, from trap and electro-pop to deep house and techno. As such, it’s impossible to pigeonhole either Danny or his musical into a single category, and Run Wild is best experienced with an open mind and no preconceptions of what to expect.
Hi Danny, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
Hello hello! All good, thank you very much, and thanks for having me. I’ve been working nonstop in the studio and playing as many shows as I can, so I’m great!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Run Wild”?
Yes of course. “Run Wild” was released last Friday and I really really dig the track. I’m super proud that the release is on Tiesto’s label AFTR:HRS, which is a great platform for that wonderful track.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
There was no special moment when the idea came to my mind, but I had this chorus in my ears for a while and I startet working on it for several months. This track is so personal and very important to me so I took the time that was needed to make that great track at the end.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
We released a lyric video together with the single on Friday. And I can already say that there is an official music video coming soon, which I am extremely excited about. So stay tuned.
How was the recording and writing process?
It was fun, as always, as I really love what I’m doing and I’m enjoying every second in the studio.
Do you tend to take a different approach when you are remixing someone else rather than working on your own?
Yes of course for me it is a very different procedure whether I’m remixing tracks or creating my own songs. When I remix songs I hear the track and if I like it my head starts thinking about ways to put my style on it. I really love to remix tracks. On the other hand when I’m producing my own tracks it’s like a journey. I have a melody or a chorus in my mind I start building a track around it. I love this process so much as it’s so much fun!
With the major reception your music has gotten throughout the years – does this put any pressure on you as you work on new material?
It would be a lie to say no, but at the moment I’m just lucky that I’ve spend every possible minute in the studio this year, and that I have so many great tunes in the pipeline. I feel more creative than ever.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?
Yes sure. Follow me on Instagram @dannyavila to make sure that you don’t miss any of the great stuff this is coming along this year. I’d love to say more, but can’t tell too much at the moment really, but what I can say is that 2020 will be an incredible year. I’ve launched my new radio show NUMB3R5 at LOS40 Spain, I do live mix session on my Youtube channel, and I’m working hard to bring my live shows to the next next level, plus of course all the new music that is coming! I cant hardly wait to show you guys everything.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
My next release is called Remedy and it will be out in April on Don Diablo’s label HEXAGON. Pretty excited about this one!
Any plans to hit the road?
I’m always on the road haha. I think I’ve done like 8-9 million kms in the last 10 years around the world, so I’m traveling most of the time. Next shows coming up are Madrid, an Indian Tour and Bolivia!
What else is happening next in Danny Avila’s world?
Besides all the news mentioned musically I’m total into sports and tattooing at the moment. It’s blessing and curse at the same time, hahah.
