Top Spots in Malaysia for a Perfect First Date

Malaysia is a hospitable country located in southeast Asia. Thanks to its ethnic diversity, Malaysia is the venue for many unique cultural festivals and events, but their most important value is the smiling faces of residents. This country is famous for its historical and archaeological sites, modern entertainment complexes, temples, and mosques. Every year the country is visited by thousands of people who seek to appreciate the natural beauty of nature, enjoy posh beaches, and visit religious sites of many faiths. This is a unique state that combines technological progress and original culture, advanced technology and ancient traditions, so if you find yourself in this country and are going to go on a date, there are interesting and non-trivial spots for a perfect first date. And if you don’t know how to take the first step, then pay attention to dating tips for single dads if you are one of them.

Firefly river journey (Jalan Club, Kampung Kuantan, 45000 Kuala Selangor, Selangor)

To take a girl out on the boat in the evening along trees dotted with the flickering lights of fireflies is a great way to spend the first date and impress the girl. One of the great advantages of such pastime is the use of a boat without a motor, so you can enjoy the sounds of the night nature and each other’s company. You don’t have to row yourself: there will be a special person for this. Of course, you will hardly be able to make high-quality photos on your phone, but it’s your first date, so it will hardly become a problem. You will be able to catch the moment. By the way, there are ready-made tours, including a transfer, hotel, river trip, and a romantic dinner.

The reserve of happy elephants (28500 Lanchang, Pahang)

It is not easy to be an elephant in Malaysia: the jungle is cut down, and the natural habitat is becoming smaller. Because of this, elephants come to the fields and gardens of villagers, and they fight them like pests, with all available means: the damage from a lost elephant is very big. Therefore, the Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Center has been created, where elephants get the required treatment, and they are also trained to help their relatives take them out of dangerous territories.

This is the only place among all zoos and elephant farms where you can see happy elephants, and this is amazing. Here they are treated with care, there is no elephant riding and other attractions, but you will be able to watch them in their almost natural conditions. Admission is free, and you can watch elephants, treat them with something tasty (food can be bought on the spot), take a walk in the park, and watch a movie or a mini show (of course, no circus violence).

You will be able to swim in the river along with elephants for an additional fee (€ 2 per person), so warn a girl to take dry change clothes with her. Besides, girls should better go into the river in a T-shirt and shorts instead of a swimsuit.

Surfing and kayaking (Cherating)

Cherating is a small town for those who love water sports and a relaxed atmosphere, so it’s a great option for a date. It is located on the coast of the South China Sea, but it is not always suitable for swimming: it depends on the season.

Main entertainment here are:

  • Surfing (November – March, you can rent a surfboard)

  • Kitesurfing (May – October)

  • Kayaking on the mangrove river (all year round)

After such an active date, you will certainly want to eat something.

  • Ombok is perfect if you have a morning date, so come here for breakfast with a cup of good coffee (the restaurant is open until noon).

  • Eco-bar is a bar with delicious European food, open in the evening.

  • Beach bar is a bar for an evening date with alcohol. The bar is located on the beach, so just ask the locals to find a way out.
