Manchester artist Conrad today reveals his new single ‘No God’ – out now on Twin Music/Kobalt. Taking aim at our treatment of the planet but disguising it through a turbulent human relationship. Conrad’s songwriting continues to captivate and since releasing single ‘Blue Blooded’ at the end of last year he has firmly established himself as oneof 2020’s most exciting prospects.
Comparisons will be drawn to contemporaries such asThe Weeknd, Dermot Kennedy and Labrinth. However, Conrad’s menacingly powerful vocal and natural ear for a distinctive melody create a sound that is all his own. With an ability to mould key life experiences into memorable songs, he is a thoughtful and engaging artist with something to say.
“No God is a song that reflects on a massively one sided relationship and the realisation that it’s tipped past the point of no return,” explained Conrad. “When I went into the studio to write it, the concept came from the abusive relationship we have with our planet but by personifying the story it’s relatable to anyone who’s ever been in a relationship like that.”
Using a knowledge of selling tickets from his time running club nights at university, Conrad has implemented these same skills and personable attitude towards his own artist project. The results speak for themselves with two sold out London shows at 02 Academy Islington and Moth Club and a third on sale at Omeara in March also primed to sell out.
The release of ‘No God’ and then a debut EP later this summer provides the perfect platform for one of the UK’s most exciting new talents.
