Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Conversations Freestyle”?
The song is about me and my struggles in life and coming out of it on top. You get into situations you shouldn’t, but at the end of the day I am still pushing forward for my future. As I say in the song
“Lately I’ve been spitting bars and I’ve been making hits it’s kinda hard to get away from this life we live…”
“Stay off the streets it ain’t worth doing life invest in something good…”
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?
Some of the experiences I’ve been through, related to struggles with my mum and my little sister, I used for inspiration in the song.
Any plans to release a video for the single?
Yeah the video is out now on Mixtape Madness. We filmed it in a Manchester park with Marcus Bailey @shotby97k. It was pretty dark and some five-Os cycled past, but they just said “it’s a hit” and went on their way. Left us to it. Maybe we’ll send it to them.
How was the recording and writing process?
It was an easy process, I wrote it in my own time and pace. The recording process is second nature to me. I had the idea and then got Marcus to shoot the video. It came together fast.
What role does Manchester play in your music?
It has a great deal of influence as this is my block. I love its diversity and the support we give each other in music, but it’s not got the recognition it should yet.
How has Juice Wrld and Trippie Redd influenced your writing?
They’re an influence on my new music coming up as they have a unique sound, lyrics which I can relate to. I’m also listening to Sada Baby, Polo g and Mozzy.
Does the new single mean we can expect new material – how’s that coming along?
I’m always progressing and playing around with different sounds and genres, working with new producers like Rago and LupeBeats. So yeah I have a few other songs in the pipeline, some of which are collaborations.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Next one is Bro’s Code with @jblaze which is coming out on GRM Daily on March 3rd
Any plans to hit the road?
When my team are ready, then I’m ready.
What else is happening next in Hxxdz’s world?
Just more of the same, writing and music and possibly an album.
Head Honcho, Editor in Chief and writer here on VENTS. I don't like walking on the beach, but I love playing the guitar and geeking out about music. I am also a movie maniac and 6 hours sleeper.
