Oscar Lang has announced that his next EP, Overthunk, will be released March 6 on Dirty Hit Records, alongside a new video for the EP’s first single, “Flowers” – CLICK HEREto watch.
The infectious singalong represents the first track from the 19-year-old Londoner since his debut EP bops etc., which was released in 2019. Written and self-produced, “Flowers” signals the first steps towards a forthcoming record from Lang, who said “The video was a fun one to make. We didn’t want to do anything as wacky as the last video but still wanted to capture the colorful vibe of the track. Screaming into a leaf blower was my favorite part of the shoot, although it did give me the most extreme case of cotton mouth I’ve ever experienced!”
Of the retro approach to songwriting that helped brand him as the “Brian Wilson for Gen-Z” Lang said, “I wanted to blend a mix of the old Beatles-esque psychedelia and a modern sound, and it was a fun opportunity for me to scream all over a track.”
