Ahead of the release of their highly anticipated third album, London 6-piece Melt Yourself Down release brand new single ‘Crocodile’, out on 20th February, with their album ‘100% YES’ to follow on 27th March. The band also embark on a UK headline tour, including a date at London’s newest music venue Lafayette on 22nd April.

The hard-hitting new single explores the terrors of the Russian drug ‘Krokodil’ as a metaphor for youth decay. As a lyricist, Kush has an unrivalled knack for making a statement with his straightforward yet poignant approach, and alongside Pete Wareham’s exceptional skill as a saxophonist, the track unapologetically leaps out and shocks the listener.

Speaking of the track, Kush says, “In this song I was reminiscing some of the feelings I had during my time living in Bristol where quite a few of my friends got addicted to crack, some died and some are still hooked… It is about boredom, having too much time on your hands, doing crap jobs and the feeling of sheer desperation that comes with it. It is also about a time in my life when I was unemployed and living in the Midlands, having a lot of energy not knowing what to do with it, and doing very bad things!”

Pete adds, “’Crocodile’ is about addiction and how vulnerable we can be to demons, both real and imagined.”
