Hey Vents, we’re doing well just trying to get our music out there one step at a time! Right now we are in the process of booking shows and also writing new materials as we speak.
Can you talk to us more about your upcoming single “Magazine”?
Our latest single Magazine is honestly my favorite song that we made. It’s a new style of music for us but it’s so warm and passionate. I love the concept and story behind it. It has more of a synth-pop feel which is our new direction.
Did any event, in particular, inspire you to write this song?
The story is about someone who was admired and praised for how beautiful she was and even received attention for being on the cover of the magazine. Years later she struggles to get that same attention, she is an extra on a movie set instead of the star that she imagined. Long story short Looks are important, but one can’t just live off that, without any goals being driven.
Any plans to release a video for the upcoming single?
We are actually planning to release a music video late march.
How was the recording and writing process?
The writing process was a little off at first because this was a new style of music for us, but after putting everything in one motion, it became pretty easy to finish the song! Writing lyrics actually came pretty easy. The words just popped in my head after listening to the song a couple of times
How have The Lumineers and The 1975 influenced your writing?
Lumineers are a catchy band with their hits, but we really don’t play that style of music. The 1975 is actually one of my favorite bands to listen to ever since chocolate came out. I always wanted to do a style like theirs, and finally, we can.
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
We do not have any specific release dates, but we are making more songs as we speak.
Any plans to hit the road?
Honestly, we thought about hitting the road a couple of times, but we wanted to be one of the strongest Philly bands before we even thought of going out and touring.
What else is happening next in Moonroof world?
Moonroof is making new songs and also playing more shows than ever. We have a show every weekend in March so come out and listen. We opened up for some big bands but we’re pushing to be openers for other bigger bands and the end goal would to step out of that opening spot.
