6 Indispensable Things to Consider Before Buying an Above Ground Pool

Brighten up and make the upcoming summer memorable for your family by purchasing one of the best above ground pools. These pools can be effortlessly installed in the backyard and can easily become the favorite recreation for everyone in your house. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that these pools have surpassed the regular in-ground pools in terms of affordability, portability, and flexibility.

Before rushing to the market, you should pay heed to some indispensable things that you must consider to get the best above ground pool. Let’s dive in.

Things to Consider Before Buying Above Ground Pools

  1. Size of the pool

Even if they are portable in comparison to regular pools, you still have to consider the size of your backyard before making the final decision. Make sure that you have plenty of room to fit the desired model of the pool on your lawn.

The diameter of round pools is what defines their size. They usually come in the range from 10 to 33 feet. While for the oval ones, they have a width between 12 to 18 feet and the length is usually between 24 to 44 feet.

  1. Shape of the pool

Most above ground pools come in two cliché shapes; round and oval. People are usually allured by the oval shape because it seems bigger.

The rounds are more economical than the oval-shaped pools because they require a lesser number of parts to hold the water.

  1. Frame style

There are three typical types of frames; steel, resin, and hybrid. The steel ones are the most common of them because of their sturdiness. However, steel is prone to corrosion due to exposure to constant water and sun-radiations. Resin, on the other hand, does not corrode but it is not as sturdy as steel.

The hybrid frames are made with both resin and steel. The parts which are exposed to water are made with resin and the rest of the frame is of steel. If you can afford then we’d recommend you to go for the hybrid frame style.

  1. Depth of the pool

The depth which you should buy depends upon who is going to use it. If it’s going to be an adult pool party then the more depth the pool has the better it will be. While for children, smaller pools are also readily available.

  1. The quality of the liner

The liner made with high-grade material ensures longevity. It will prevent any accidental leaks and increase the lifespan of your pool. The type of liner varies with the model of the pool. Here are a few common types:

  1. Pump and Filter System

If you do not want to end up swimming in filthy water filled with debris, dirt, and carcasses of insects then get yourself a pump and filter system. The pump provides the power to circulate the water through the filter system which then cleans out the water impurities. There are three major types of filters. Let’s have a look at them.

Sand filter: This is the most common type of filter that you will encounter. The water moves through the sand present inside the container which removes the impurities. The downside of this filter is that you have to clean it repeatedly to keep the system working.

Cartridge filter: They are quite similar to the filters you have in your kitchen. They have a larger capacity to filter water. Therefore, you wouldn’t have to clean up for a long time.

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) filters: In a layman term, this filter removes the impurities at a micro-level with the help of a mesh screen.
