Hi Zernell, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?
I’m good thank you just been getting busy, thank you for having me!
Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Come Over”? –
Most definitely, “Come Over” is a record Featuring my guy “RV” who blessed the song with a killa verse! And I actually recorded this song at home in my room with my right hand “Louis10Ten” who produced it and my close friend “Young Emz”. Who also helped bring this song to life.
Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song? –
Of course, I’ve been through a couple situations where I’d like a female company to come over so I thought I’d write about it haha.
How was the filming process and experience behind the video? –
It was fun! That’s how I can explain it, it didn’t feel rehearsed everything was natural, everyone was in their element I knew the outcome was going to be good.
How was the recording and writing process?
It took a couple of hours to make to be honest, I was on the roll… the lyrics and melodies were coming to me pretty easy and I also had my guys with me who helped execute a few ideas on this song.
What role does Bedfordshire play in your music? –
The whole hood supports me, I can only be myself and that’s the Luton in me that portrays through my music!
How has Usher and Michael Jackson influenced your writing? –
They’re Legends, I wanted to be just like them when I was young and still do study them. Their the reason for me falling in love with music so I’ll do what I can to make that feel good music as much as they did which resonated to the world.
Do you tend to take a different approach when you are collaborating with someone else rather than working on your own? –
Nah I feel like it’s important to have your own identity on every record you do. So no matter what I’m trying to bring a bit of me feature or not. I feel like melodies is the distinctive part to my music and I try to stand out with it.
Does the new single mean we can expect a new material –
100% I’m already on to the next in fact there’s more than a few haha it’s just about me dropping them now.
how’s that coming along? –
I’m excited and can’t wait for everyone to hear what I’ve been cooking!
Any tentative release date or title in mind?
Let’s just say 2020 is going to be an amazing year for me. I can’t name yet because I haven’t decided haha but we got it.
Any plans to hit the road?
Most definitely just more music, more videos, shows and an EP on the way!
