LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY TO PLAY HAMPTON COURT PALACE FESTIVAL FOR THE FIRST TIME

Historic Royal Palaces and IMG announced today that one of the biggest British bands of the mid-nineties, Lighthouse Family, will join this years line up for the very first time, at Hampton Court Palace Festival. Performing on Saturday 6 June, tickets will be on general sale from 10am Friday 14 February at www.hamptoncourtpalacefestival.com

Originally hailing from Newcastle, the acclaimed duo (vocalist Tunde Baiyewu and keyboardist Paul Tucker) began their musical career almost 25 years ago. Their first single, Lifted, was one of the defining songs of the era, an uplifting pop-soul classic that dominated radio playlists. Three further hit singles followed: Ocean Drive, Loving Every Minute and Goodbye Heartbreak.

With their instantly recognisable sound and a glorious singing voice that stopped the world in its tracks, they have achieved great success including selling over ten million records, securing five Top Ten singles and  four Top Ten albums. Audiences can expect a night of classic songs spreading love and connection. Tunes to sing, loudly, from the heart.

Now in its 28th year, Hampton Court Palace Festival, is a series of truly special open-air concerts. Artists perform in an intimate 3,000-seat auditorium in Base Court, set against the backdrop of Henry VIII’s magnificent Tudor Palace. Attendees will arrive at the sumptuous Palace Gardens and can enjoy a spot of picnicking in the spectacular surroundings.
