Nicky Romero’s New Single “Stay” Will Take You Back to Your First Love

Nicky Romero showcases his softer side with “Stay.” Drawing upon the style of his 2019 releases like “Love You Forever” ft. Sam Martin, “Sometimes” with DallasK, and “Distance” with Olivia HoltRomero trades in driving basslines and big-room synths for gently undulating instrumentals and a gently progressive drop in the new track. The Protocol label head pairs the dreamy melodies with emotive vocals, producing lines like “why don’t we stay, and not get older like we’re supposed to” that evoke the nostalgia of youthful romance. “Stay” follows Nicky‘s club-ready “I See” released in January as Romero‘s first single of the year.
