Hi Blackkingkofi! How are you?
Good. Thanks!
When/How did you start/get into making music?
I got into music when I was 8. My big bro would put on BET while I was watching dragon ball and I fell in love with it. I told my mom I wanna be a rapper like busta rhymes and grow dreads lol. She always reminds me of this. I’ve been into music and creating ever since.
What is your greatest inspiration for your music?
My greatest inspiration is being able to reach people through my music. I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago. When I was 17 I made a parody rap song for Crank That Soulja boy and it went viral. After so many people hearing my voice I realized how much I loved music and wanted to purse it. Unfortunately, at that time I didn’t have a big budget to use on music. I used to record on a virtual DJ with a computer microphone and drop the songs on Facebook.
What is the hardest subject you’ve ever written about?
I’ll say my hardest subjects are struggle and betrayal. I deal with a lot of struggle and countless fake friends in my life so I always touch this because I know it’s very common.
What is the greatest achievement you’ve ever accomplished?
My greatest achievement is gaining 1 million streams on Spotify in 2019. Also having a viral video made for my single Tropics. My home island of Trinidad and Tobago knew the song!
Are you planning on releasing new music soon?
I’m currently working on a lot of music which I will release sometime in the middle of 2020.
What is next for you?
I plan on pushing my music forward. I also want to push my blog which I created 6ixclouttv and get some new content. I’m also working on a book and def wanna dabble in vlogging.
