Capital Cities’ Frontman Sebu Shaves Iconic Beard in Haunting New Music Video

Capital Cities’ frontman Sebu is best known for putting smiles on people’s faces with pop hits like  “Safe and Sound” – and for his luxuriant, Rolling-Stone-approved beard.

In the brand new music video to his latest single “Have You Ever Hurt Somebody” – – Sebu grabs an electric razor and does the unthinkable.  He shaves off his beard and reveals a new side of him, literally and figuratively. We get to see and hear a deeper, darker Sebu.

The video—a mesmerizing short film co-directed by Sebu and ACRS (Wale/Dua Lipa)—is going viral. It co-stars Armenian superstar songstress Sirusho whose rabid fans are happy to see the two singers reunite. Previously, Sebu wrote, produced and sang on Sirusho’s dual-language dance anthem “Vuy Aman” which, by the way, will be re-released—with a hypnotic new arrangement—on Sebu’s forthcoming solo debut album, Many Faces.

A stripped-down live acoustic version of “Have You Ever Hurt Somebody” and a dance remix by Galestian will be released in the coming weeks.

To those who miss the beard, Sebu asks us not to worry: “We shot the video nine months before it came out. The beard is totally back.”
