Things to Consider When Staging Your Home for Sale

If you’re unsure how to decorate to sell your home, all home staging tips start out suggesting or rather urging you to get rid of any clutter.

That’s your first step. Once that’s done, you can move on to the right furniture to use for staging.

  1. Get Rid of About Half Your Furniture

If you are still going to be living in the home, take out about half of your furniture. Keep the important pieces like your kitchen table or sofa. Removing excess furniture will make the house look bigger and roomier.

  1. Vintage Pieces

Incorporate a few vintage pieces into your staging decor. Use some chairs with an 1800s or early 1900s design at your table for example.

Don’t go overboard. That style may not appeal to all buyers but will work with other pieces.

  1. Canopy Bed

Use a canopy bed to stage one of the bedrooms, most likely the master because they can take up a significant amount of space.

They are a new (old) trend for the new decade. They exude a feeling of luxury, comfort, and style.

  1. Rattan and Wicker

Rattan and wicker are making their way back inside from the lanai or back porch. These materials balance your traditional and modern style to create a good mix to appeal to more buyers.

  1. Curved Sofa

This style is proof that everything comes back around. You’ll see more 60s and 70s design in 2020 so why not stage your home with a curved sofa?

Your home will look up to date and modern which is what most buyers hope to see during their home search.

  1. Earth Tones with Black Accents

When choosing your furniture staging pieces, go with earth tones to keep things neutral and natural-looking. Neutrals give the home a zen feeling which is very inviting.

Use some black in your accent tables or accessories.

Furniture stores near you can help you choose just the right pieces.
