INTERVIEW: Actor and Producer Hank Boone

Hi Hank! How are you?

Hey! I am blessed beyond all I could ever imagine. Very excited to be here.

Where are you from?

I was born in the Midwest in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  But because my father served in the Army, I was raised pretty much everywhere.

How’d you get into acting?

Funny story really. I was invited to a mixer with professional actors, directors, and producers etc. Upon arrival everyone was given a name tag and told to put their name and profession on it. I absolutely didn’t want to have my career blank, so I put “actor.” I guess you could say I was acting then. Since then I’ve met several loving and helping people who have encouraged me to this day.

What was your first film or play you acted in?

My first play as an adult was a farcical comedy called Escanaba In Da Moonlight, written by well known comedic actor Jeff Daniels. I absolutely enjoyed being Remnar, he was funny, irreverent, but very personable.

Is being in your career just as you imagined it?

Yes and no. There are days that I wake up to complete “curveballs” but that’s the life in the day of an entertainer. There are also days of complete euphoria and things just don’t seem real in a good way. I try to keep myself grounded so that I am ready for anything this profession throws at me.

What are your plans for 2020?

My 2020 vision year, as I call it, will be a year of great success and increase. I have many amazing upcoming projects and cannot wait to share it with the world.

What is a piece of advice you’d give to an upcoming actor?

Don’t lose sight of your vision. Don’t forget why you are here and stay true to your purpose. Just like any profession or path in life you will have people and obstacles in your path, but what sets you apart is how you overcome them and keep pressing on.
