Americana storyteller Anthony Mills subverts the confederate flag on new video.

Raised in Ohio, by way of Louisiana. Anthony Mills was a producer, and hip-hop artist. However, by using his Louisiana heritage, Mills has made an unexpected, yet big shift in his musical career, by creating a collection of new tracks from the Deep South.

His latest track ‘Rusty Cadillac’,which explores the distressing topic of using alcohol to suppress feelings, with historical fantasies providing enough distance to act as an observer, has been brought to life with new gripping visuals .

With the release only days away from Martin Luther King day, the video explores the image of the Confederate Flag being subverted, with the purpose of removing some of the concerning power it continues to hold on the US.

Commenting on the video, Mills says: “the flag has been used to burn fear into the hearts of Southern blacks and the diaspora.”
