Newcastle rockers Creegan return to the scene today with their explosive and infectious new single Revitalise. The new track explores the timely issue of mental health via fluid, expansive drum grooves and a gritty and anthemic alt-rock chorus hook and is available on all download/streaming platforms now.
“’Revitalise’ highlights the battle you have with your own mind; how the devil on the shoulder fights against you and how you can fight back at it,” explains frontman Connor Pattison. “We wanted to put an energetic spin on an otherwise melancholic topic, with the intricate drum groove locking in with the floating guitar line in the verse creating a sense of tension, rising to a vocal apex in the chorus that ends in a spacey release. The dynamics of the song matches the dynamic of one who is in a constant tug-of-war with their own mental health.”
The four-piece have cemented themselves on the busy UK rock scene with sold out shows in the North East, a fast-growing Spotify fanbase and media support from Amazing Radio, BBC Radio Newcastle and a wide range of rock press and radio.
Originally a solo project for Connor Pattinson, the band’s textured rock sound now draws on a range of influences – from the intricate folk-rock songwriting of Bear’s Den to the heavier pop-metal riffs of Bring Me The Horizon – and is all tied together with a raw energy and ear for a catchy hook.
