MLK weekend at IMG Academy is the place to be if college lacrosse is on your radar. Highly attended by college coaches, the National Lacrosse Federation Futures Showcase is where the very best lacrosse players from NLF clubs across the country convene to battle it out in front of the nation’s top college lacrosse coaches.
Lax Mafia has several of their players who were chosen by their coaches and directors for their playing ability to represent the team amongst players from lacrosse hotbeds, such as Maryland, Long Island and Massachusetts.
Selected players are:
Caleb Coleman (Attack – Ponte Verde, FL)
Spencer Surface (Midfielder – Ponte Verde, FL)
Michael Evans (Attack – Parkland, FL)
Matthew Evans (Midfielder – Parkland, FL)
Ethan Streiner (Goalie – Parkland, FL)
Marcus Acevedo (Defender – Boca Raton, FL)

After two days of intense training by an A-List lineup of Division I College Coaches, they’ll compete on day three for the NLF Futures Championship.
“The NLF’s website says ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’ and that is exactly why we select our most productive players for this showcase; to test them and sharpen their skills against the top players in the United States” said Lax Mafia Director, Natalie Gregorek.
“This is our third year sending players to this showcase, and I believe it is without a doubt, the toughest showcase in the U.S.” said Direct and Coach, Jamie Evans.
According to the NLF website, “The National Lacrosse Federation is run by six of the country’s leading clubs. As an organization, our goal is to bring in the top club programs and players from all over the country together.”
