Rico Nasty says: “Grandma is cooler than my grandma.”

Grandma about “Stomp and Grind”:“Work with your heroes whenever you get the chance. Rico and I had a very short introduction before we started working together. Sometimes in writing sessions it can be tough to be vulnerable with someone new (especially when its Rico fucking Nasty) but that wasn’t the case during these sessions. the song is about the grind, the little victories and longing for another. “Stomp and Grind” invoked the feeling of wandering through a forest while simultaneously stumbling through a coke-fueled hotel club. We brought in our incredibly talented friend and director miggy (@shotbymiggy) to capture this vision.”

The young Atlanta-based multi-instrumentalist Grandma easily switches genres, he has earlier revealed his bedroom lo-fi-pop track “Downtown Life” here, stating: “We are at our most self-destructive both in how we treat ourselves and how we treat the planet. Regardless, it is absolutely the most exciting time to be alive.” While you can hear him going from blending funk and pop, belting in a soulful falsetto on “Shallow Water”, into collaborating on a hip hop based track with the fellow Atlanta based rapper Hanzo on “Elastic”to smoothe electronica infused alternative R&B for his track “No Doors”.
