PREMIERE: It’s New Year and Americana Chart-Topper Ray Cardwell Has a “New Set of Problems”

With every New Year comes a new set of resolutions and goals that each person hopes to accomplish. Americana-rocker Ray Cardwell has a unique take on the topic, with his single release for “New Set of Problems.” He’s giving Vents Magazine readers the exclusive world premiere for the easy going video.

“When your current set of problems are wearing you out, what do you do?!

Look toward the new year, of course,” explains Cardwell. “Start your New Year with this fun party video performed by Ray Cardwell and Tennessee Moon on Bonfire Records… written by Michael Supe Granda of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.”

Featured on Cardwell’s latest project, Stand On My Own, the video takes a humorous approach to life with the theme of wanting a new set of problems. Shot on-location in Missouri, it features an opening gambling scene that progresses to an even bigger story, tying closely to its tongue-in-cheek lyrics.

New Set of Problems - Ray Cardwell **Official Americana Music Video**

The Cardwell Family bluegrass band, from the Missouri Ozarks, performed in America’s heartland in the late 1970s. In the ‘80s Ray was into rock and reggae, followed by a move to Nashville as a member of the critically acclaimed Bluegrass/Gospel group, the New Tradition in 1994. Then he returned to Missouri to raise a family, where he earned accolades as an award-winning vocal and instrumental music teacher with ensembles.

To say that 2019 was a big year for Ray Cardwell would be an understatement. After charting three Number One singles on the Grassicana charts, it was a breakout year for the Missouri native. Previous singles “Alright,” “Hurricane Rain” and “Time to Drive” each spent at least one week in the chart’s summit. Two of them, “Alright” and “Rain” even went on to place on the chart’s 2019 year-end survey at No. 4 and No. 3 respectively.
