INTERVIEW: Chloe and Nash

Hi folks, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Amazing, we’ve been really creative recently and are especially excited for this new decade!

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “Deep End”?

Deep End is about being stuck in a dark place and not knowing how to get out. It’s a very personal song for both of us. We hope that the song can inspire other people to know that you’re capable of overcoming being stuck in a dark place, and finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

We met at one of the darkest times in both of our lives, and we were able to push through and create music. Through this outlet, we formed a bond which allowed us to move forward in this positive and creative way. The song explains where we’ve been.

Any plans to release a video for the single?

Look out for an acoustic clip coming soon. As for a full music video, you’ll have to wait and see. We have big plans!

How was the recording and writing process?

We wrote Deep End with one of our best pals Drew Chadwick. It was very cathartic and we were all able to relate on a deep level through which Deep End came to fruition.

How did you go on balancing the darkness in the topic with the much uplifting tone?

We wanted to have a source of inspiration and empower listeners to be able to relate and come out of a dark place.

Was it easy to tackle on this topic?

Yes, because it’s something we could all relate so deeply on.

What role does LA play in your music?

LA plays a huge role- the freedom of individuality here, and being able to speak so freely on such specific and deep tropics has given us such an open platform to do just that.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Yes it does. We’re working on an EP which will be revealed this month, and have already started on the next EP coming in the spring.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Yes, stay tuned for more info on that this month!! As for the name of the next single, it’s called 3AM!

What other aspects of mental health will you get to explore moving on?

In all our music we explore stuff we’ve been through, good times and bad. From anxiety to depression, trauma to addiction, we are really looking to bring awareness to all of it and speak about the inherent ups and downs.

Any plans to hit the road?

Hopefully soon! We’ll be announcing more after our EP drops.

What else is happening next in Chloe & Nash’s world?

We’re getting in the studio this season and writing like crazy to really show you who we are, with more releases planned this month. Stay tuned and follow us @chloeandnash
