Spotify algorithm for greater exposure

The algorithm will monitor the action on the song. It can identify things like the skip rate and the save rate. These are the things you need to concentrate on if you wish to hack the algorithm.

How to hack the algorithm 

Finally, here we are at the business end of the post. You need to have access to your Artist for Spotify account, and you get this via your distributor. The three preferred distributors for Spotify are:

  • CD Baby

  • The Orchard

  • DistroKid

In your Spotify for artist account, there will be an option to plug a song directly to the editorial team. It would help if you did this 4 to 5 weeks before the release of the song to give yourself a chance of being heard and selected.
