All things must pass. That includes the old sports network they used to have where I grew up called PASS. No TV show is on forever. Eventually even The Simpsons will end. Some shows will end quite soon, though. In fact, we already know some of the shows that will be ending their run in 2020. They won’t be the only ones, of course. Cancellations happen. Sunnyside wasn’t planning to both begin and end ints run in 2019. Here are a few of the prominent shows that you will be seeing the last of in 2020.
In January, we will be seeing three notable shows ends. The Good Place always had a finite life, as it was basically written to only last so many episodes, not until Mr. Robot. BoJackHorseman will be dropping its last batch of episodes too. If you are the kind of person who is into those CW superhero shows, I am admittedly not one of them, you probably have feelings about Arrow ending. Speaking of CW shows coming to a close, Supernatural will finally be ending.
Fresh off the Boat is airing its last episode in February, which will make Constance Wu happy. Criminal Minds will be ending as well, which makes me happy. That show is garbage. Also, did you know that Homeland is still on? I could have sworn it ended its run like three years ago. Evidently, I was wrong.
ABC is apparently looking to refresh itself. In addition to Fresh Off the Boat, we will be seeing the final episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., How to Get Away with Murder, and the former Emmys juggernaut Modern Family. I personally will not be missing any of those. I’ve seen maybe 20 minutes of Modern Family over the years and I swear I have never seen a single joke.
Several Netflix shows will be having their final seasons. On the one hand, I am a big fan of GLOW and want to see more and more episodes. On the other hand, I kind of feel like maybe they only have so many more episodes in them. One final season to cap off the story makes sense. They don’t need to do that with Fuller House, but maybe they will be. I tried watching that show basically as a joke. You know, something to laugh at. It did not go well for my psyche.
There will be a lot of new shows in 2020, but if you are a fan of any of these programs, be prepared to say goodbye, especially for the ones airing their final episodes in January.
