2019 was the year in which Greta Thunberg made waves campaigning for climate change action. As a young person campaigning to save the planet, you might expect parents to consider her a good role model for their children. But do they?
Private fostering agency, Perpetual Fostering, quizzed 2,000 parents in the United Kingdom and asked them to name the celebrity they feel is the best role model for children. While Thunberg made the list, she didn’t poll top.
Of the 424 different celebrities that were named by parents taking the poll, Richard Branson was named more than anyone else.
Richard Branson came out on top with 6.69% of the vote, followed closely by David Beckham (5.45%) and Lord Alan Sugar (4.44%).

Women made up just a quarter of the top 50 list, with JK Rowling the best performing of the women, while former President Barack Obama and wife Michele Obama both fared far better than current President, Donald Trump.
The top performing female in the survey was JK Rowling, author of the global hit phenomenon Harry Potter books.
Greta Thunberg polled in position 14, a solid 4 places clear of Trump, while Bill Gates was the top performing American in the list (position 4).
