How CBD Can Help With An Itchy Scalp Hair Loss?

Having an itchy scalp will eventually result in hair loss. It is a very common issue, but that doesn’t make it easy to accept it. Everyone wants healthy hair and scalp after all. But if you are facing the same issue then there’s a solution for it. CBD oil and edibles can put a stop to your itchy scalp and hair loss. But before we come to that, let’s talk a little about CBD itself.

What Is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is a compound which is produced by the cannabis plant. Research has shown that CBD is very beneficial for the human body and it can be used for a wide variety of purposes ranging from treating epilepsy to treating itchy scalp and hair loss. The later is what we are going to discuss here. But before that, let’s get to the root of the issue:

What Causes Itchy Scalp And Hair Loss?

The hair root consists of proteins that aid your hair growth. But hair follicles don’t grow together all at the same time. So it’s normal to lose some hair every day but factors like dandruff, oily and itchy scalp can make your hair fall faster. Moreover, these can make your hair thin and dry too since it prevents hair follicles from growing healthily. But CBD oil or edibles can help in combating this issue:

  • Maintains Hair Health: CBD edibles (and oil) contain the necessary fatty acids and Vitamin-E needed to keep your scalp and hair healthy. These two components work to prevent water loss while also ensuring that your hair remains soft. Moreover, Vitamin-E prevents dandruff from accumulating as it can make your scalp dry, waxy or oily.

  • Strengthening Scalp: CBD contains Omega 3, 6 and 9 which helps in keeping your scalp tissue strong and ensures that your hair follicles grow faster. It also keeps hair healthy and prevents it from breaking.

  • Reduce Inflammation: Chronic inflammation can prevent your hair from growing healthily. CBD can suppress inflammation which results in itchy scalps and in turn, can help promote a better environment where hair follicles can grow on a healthy scalp. Moreover, CBD can also potentially reach the sebaceous glands (which secrete an oil called sebum) and help in lubricating hair better.

  • Increases Blood Circulation: Good blood circulation results in luscious hair. CBD increases blood flow to the scalp which ensures that more nutrients get delivered to the hair follicles. This results in healthier and stronger hair.

  • Aids In Peaceful Sleep: There’s a little hormone called cortisol which is produced by the body when it’s in a heightened state of stress. High amounts of this hormone can result in hair loss among other negative effects like weight gain and insomnia. As one can imagine, having less cortisol is the ideal situation. CBD has shown that it can reduce anxiety and thus improve sleep. This can, in turn, result in low cortisol levels which can result in less hair loss.

  • Acid To Help Hair Growth: CBD contains Gamma Linolenic and Linolenic acid which helps in maintaining normal hair growth rates. This also means that your hair will continue growing for longer periods of time. These acids also work wonders for your scalp and keep the cells healthy. Even the pigment cells are strengthened which lets you keep your hair colour.

CBD works so well that you don’t really have to take extra care of your hair apart from using the edibles or oil. So you can heat your hair, dye it or brush it roughly; it will still be extremely healthy, without split ends or any kind of frizz. Even a little CBD can save you excessive trips to the salon or dermatologist.
