Human Potential, the solo project of composer/musician/producer/filmmaker Andrew Becker (former drummer of Dischord Records band Medications and Brooklyn experimental outfit Screens), has announced the release of I’m Glad You’re Alive, out February 7, 2020 via on Becker’s own, What Delicate Recordings. Today, he’s released the first track, “Beat The Heat,” listen here.
About the track, Andrew Becker says: “”Beat The Heat” was written in a semi-conscious, fugue state…a daft attempt at amalgamating Cannibal Ox, Los Dug Dug’s, Truman’s Water, Lifetones and Miami Bass into one malodorous pop plop. Upon waking and listening to playback of the track, I realized the efficacy of this synthesis was, at best, dubious. But, I was encouraged to release it by the benevolent spirits of Mark E. Smith, David Axlerod and Big L. I had no choice but to oblige.”
