The Hellfreaks Release New Music Video For “Witches Heal”

On February 7, 2020, the fourth album of the Budapest band The Hellfreaks will be released, titled God On The Run. The band has been working on new songs for more than two years, fulfilling their old dream of working with foreign producers. They had Paul Miner (New Found Glory, Atreyu, Death By Stereo) for pre-production, Evan Rodaniche (Escape The Faith, Powerman 5000, Lacey Sturm) for the production / mixing phase, and Tom Waltz for the mastering to mold the band’s songs and ideas into the most perfect shape. The album will be released by the German Sunny Bastard Records.

“Witches Heal” is the third song on the album to see the light of the day alongside another Mihaszna Film videoclip. The lead singer of the band said: “We wanted a song for the album that could even be played in a strip club based on its rhythm, so it is one that you could not only dance to, but is also good for writhing around.”

Even if pole dancers don’t appear during the clip, the song lyrics literally seduce us to a magical world. “We are the kids of the witches that you never could burn or even catch” is the main idea of the refrain, which is, in a metaphorical sense, addressed to all survivors, whether they’ve been through a physical or psychological trauma.

The song wants to draw attention to supporting each other in difficult times, standing strong together as brothers and sisters in this world, as the children of “strong and badass witches”.

The clip was shot in a castle built in 1853 (Old Oak Castle Inn), which was named after the 300-year-old oak tree in the garden. All the extras, large crickets and cockroaches you see in the video in the witches’ farm were hired at a pet food store. The good news is that the royalties of the 6-legged colleagues have been paid in full, in the form of letting them free on the soft lap of mother nature.
