Following the release of latest enthralling single ‘Plastic’, which romped through indie rock prog-ness like there was no tomorrow, Lacuna Bloome return with a contrast, or so you would assume at first, with new single ‘My Girl Is A Supernova’. Listen here

Beginning with a delicate intro, featuring only guitar and vocals, ‘My Girl Is A Supernova’ starts by creating a delicate dream-like atmosphere. As the song progresses, so too does it build into its massive crescendo under the choruses titled lyrics, and you’re back to what Lacuna Bloome are known for, big soundscaping walls of sound coupled with soaring guitars and anthemic lyrics.

Evoking feelings of euphoria in their love confessing anthem, the band reveal that in actual fact, the real nature of the song didn’t go all to plan. Written about his girlfriend at the time, Niall jests “I ended up showing her the song the day before she left me. Not being one to usually write such intimate songs, it might be a while before I try that one again.”

The single is the second instalment to the band’s forthcoming EP, due early next year. The reveal of the single also comes with the announcement of the band’s biggest headline show to date, and their first in over a year, in their hometown of Brighton at Komedia on 24th February 2020 with Lout Promotions.

‘My Girl Is A Supernova’ will be released on 11th December, the second instalment to the band’s forthcoming debut EP. Tickets for the band’s headline show at Komedia, Brighton on 24th February will go on sale 13th December 2019.
