Hi guys, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

Hey, thanks for hosting us, we’ve been all good, settling in for winter in the UK.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “The Triggering”? Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

It’s a combination of events that were going on our several band members lives at the time really. It’s about not coping, struggling through the day to day with that bewildering rage of emotions we suffer from as people.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

Ah we had a blast with this one, big sports hall, last days of summer bleeding out into autumn. I don’t think any of us have had to jump around at a school for that long for quite some time.

How was the recording and writing process?

We write and record at home in Newbury and at our singers house in Hereford. We’ve got quite a nice setup now that allows us to pump out tracks as fast as poor Ben can write them and as fast as Josh can put melody and words to them.

What role does Hereford play in your music?

Hereford is Josh’s home, for us it’s a getaway. Really pleasant relaxed UK city. It’s great to go there as a squad and go mad/create. We’ve never played a show there which is mad, anyone reading this from there hurry up and book us! Get down Beefy Boys if you ever go there!!

How has Four Year Strong and A Day To Remember influenced your writing?

Both pretty heavily influenced the band collectively but really we all have pretty different tastes in music. I think the combining factor is that we all want to write something fun and up beat for the most part whilst trying to tie in elements of emo, tech, metalcore and all the inbetweeners. That said, Homesick and Rise or Die Trying are high up there on our collective playlists.

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

Ah we’ve got stuff to drop for the next half a year really so hopefully we’ll be back talking to you lot real soon. December and Jan both have tracks coming out plus a cheeky surprise in there.

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

Nothing just yet but were probably going to drop another single titled ‘No meme’s’ soon so keep your lugs to the airways for that spicy gem.

Any plans to hit the road?

Yeah were out on the road in Jan for some dates that we’ll announce soon. If you see us on a flyer/web ad come down and rage.

What else is happening next in A New Hope’s world?

Singles all the way to May next year! One a month every month. Then were working on the full length. Were really excited about the music coming up, I know it’s a bit of a cliché to say but we think it’s got the potential to go the distance.
