KT TUNSTALL RELEASES CHRISTMAS SINGLE ‘HEY, MR SANTA!’

KT Tunstall has released her Christmas single, ‘Hey, Mr Santa!’. The festive track, written by KT and Hollywood Composer Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Bad Moms, Pitch Perfect 3), delivers an anti-materialistic Christmas message laced with a touch of subversive humour and is accompanied by a fabulous lyric video by Max Downey.

The single arose when superstar film composer Christopher called upon his friend and collaborator KT Tunstall to join him in writing a humorous Christmas protest song. After listening to classic Christmas songs, Chris was struck by how few resonated with today’s issues. A father of two young girls, he thought “it would be great to have a song from a strong female perspective that actually asked Santa for what the world *really* needs right now”. After a night of writing and recording in the studio, with bass duties from Stefan Lessard (Dave Matthews Band), they had the finished article: ‘Hey, Mr Santa!’.

As well as recording her – as yet untitled – ‘mind’ album (the 3rd and final part of the trilogy), 2020 will see KT heading back out on the road, playing at Brandi Carlile’s ‘Girl’s Just Wanna Weekend’ in Mexico, touring with Jools Holland across Europe and opening for Rick Astley on his UK arena tour.
