VEVO LIFT ARTIST YUNGBLUD PREMIERES “ORIGINAL ME” VIDEO

Vevo announces the release of YUNGBLUD’s LIFT performance for “original me.” Vevo’s LIFT initiative connects today’s up-and-coming artists to audiences around the globe through video content. Launched in 2011, Vevo’s artist development program shines a spotlight on the world’s freshest new talent. Vevo LIFT alumni include the likes of Sam Smith, Halsey, Khalid, Jorja Smith, SZA, Julia Michaels, Billie Eilish and CNCO. YUNGBLUD’s LIFT performances follow those of YK Osiris, Kiana Ledé and AJ Mitchell, who have taken part in the program this year. “original me” follows the previous release of “hope for the underrated youth.”

Since exploding onto the scene with his 2018 debut album 21st Century Liability, YUNGBLUD has traveled the globe and brought his rebel-minded hip-hop infused rock-and-roll to an ever-growing legion of fans. In the midst of his nonstop touring, the London-based artist has built a one-of-a-kind bond with his young audience—a deeply felt solidarity that served as a major touchstone for his new EP, the underrated youth.

“They gave me a chance to run down an avenue of creativity, exploring deeper meanings and hidden messages within the songs that might not necessarily have been apparent to me as I was writing them,” said YUNGBLUD. “They gave me an opportunity to look into my subconscious and pull apart elements of myself, my fanbase and my life that I didn’t even know existed yet. They were so amazing to work with and I really learned a lot. I won’t forget this opportunity for the rest of my career. Thank you Vevo. I hope you all love what we created.”
