Top Movie Remakes and Sequels to Be Released in 2020

What do you like to do with your free time? After all, at the end of a long day of working, doing something relaxing is absolutely paramount.

A lot of people like to stay at home and watch TV, play online blackjack, or even read a book from time to time. Leaving the house, even for something enjoyable, is not often a priority.

Going to the movies used to be something that we did quite often. However, nowadays, as you can watch most movies while sprawled on your couch, you go to the cinema on special occasions only.

The movie has to be quite special to get you dressed and out of the door, and what is worth the effort more than a sequel or an iconic remake? 2020 is around the corner, and now is your chance to find out which movies might be able to convince you to hit the local cinema!

5 movies You Must Watch

2020 is going to be a busy year in the entertainment industry, as there are dozens of movies scheduled to be released every month. Out of all those movies, here are some of the most anticipated sequels and remakes you should watch:

  1. Top Gun: Maverick – Tom Cruise returns to the screen as one of the most iconic characters he ever played, Maverick. Since the first movie came out 31 years ago, it turned into a worldwide sensation, and fans have been waiting for a sequel for decades! Top Gun: Maverick will hit the theatres on June 26, 2020, and at this moment in time, very little is known about the movie. However, you can rest assured that it will be packed with action, and hopefully – more unforgettable moments we’ll talk about in years to come. Do you feel the need, the need for speed? We certainly do.

  2. Mulan – On March 27, 2020, a live-action remake of the popular Disney movie will come out. In recent years, a lot of animated classics were relaunched in a live-action format, but although they were OK, they didn’t blow our mind. The new version of Mulan, however, seems to be a more mature and realistic version of the beloved Disney movie. It looks quite promising, with lots of action and a captivating character you won’t forget anytime soon.

  3. Wonder Woman 1984 – When the first Wonder Woman movie came out in 2017, it became an instant hit. Therefore, the expectations of its sequel are high. Very little is known about the movie that is scheduled to come out on June 5th, 2020, as there is no trailer yet. However, we know that Chris Pine will return to the screen as Steve Trevor, although it remains unclear how his character will be incorporated in the plot. We also know that Kristen Wiig will join the cast as Cheetah, a renowned villain. Hopefully, this movie will be as entertaining as the first one.

  4. Godzilla vs Kong – If you are into action, what can be better than a movie featuring two of the fiercest monsters to ever appear in movies? Godzilla vs Kong is planned to be released on March 13, 2020, but surprisingly enough – there is still a lot we don’t know about the movie. The web is filled with speculations on who will turn out to be the most powerful monster, but only time will tell what the movie creators have in mind for us.

  5. Ghostbusters 2020 – Back in 1984, the first Ghostbusters movie came out, and it captured the hearts of the public. Although an attempt to revive the franchise has been made, when a modern version of the movie came out in 2016, it wasn’t as successful as anticipated. In the upcoming year, July 10th to be exact, director Jason Reitman will make another attempt to bring your favourite characters back to life. It will be unrelated to the 2016 reboot, which makes us hope that this time, the directors will stick to the original plot.

In Conclusion

While new and original movies can be interesting, nothing can compare to the excitement that accompanies the release of a remake or sequel of your favourite movie. Which of the upcoming releases will you watch in theatres?
